The guide publishes a band of 10–15 mg/kg per dose. This table uses 15 mg/kg: it is the dose the published daily maximum is built from, and the one the manufacturers' leaflets give. A lower dose within the band is also correct.

What parents ask about Tylol

How much Tylol for a child of 10, 15 or 20 kg?

The dose goes by weight, never by age alone. For Tylol:

10 kg 150 mgsuspension 120 mg/5 ml: 6.2 ml
15 kg 225 mgsuspension 120 mg/5 ml: 9.3 ml
20 kg 300 mgsuspension 120 mg/5 ml: 12.5 ml

How often, and how many times a day?

Every 4–6 hours. For a child of 15 kg that is at most 4 doses in 24 hours.

What if I don't know what the child weighs?

Age is not enough: two children of the same age can be several kilos apart, and this dose is calculated per kilo. Weigh the child, or ask at the pharmacy. PediBot will not give a figure from age alone.

From what age can Tylol be given?

Under 3 months, only if a doctor has told you to. Do not combine with other products that also contain paracetamol (cold remedies).
