Dose calculator · Ibuprofen
Every weight from 5 to 40 kg, in milligrams and in millilitres according to the strength of your bottle. Fixed table from the AEPap dosing guide — no AI. Always check the strength printed on your own bottle: it changes by country and by presentation.
Junifen comes in 2 strengths. The 40 mg/ml one has 2 times as much ibuprofen in each millilitre as the 20 mg/ml one: the same millilitres give 2 times the dose.
For a 10 kg child (100 mg):
⚠️ Before measuring, look at how many mg per ml the box says. It is the most common way to get a dose wrong at home.
Every 6–8 hours, and never more doses in 24 hours than the last column says.

⚠️ The grey rows are below the minimum weight for Ibuprofen: do not give it without medical advice. Under 3 months, no medicine without a prescription. Ibuprofen is also avoided if the child is dehydrated (vomiting, diarrhoea) or has chickenpox.
The guide publishes a band of 5–10 mg/kg per dose. This table uses 10 mg/kg: it is the dose the published daily maximum is built from, and the one the manufacturers' leaflets give. A lower dose within the band is also correct.
Not under 3 months or under 5 kg. Give with food. Avoid if dehydrated (vomiting/diarrhoea), with chickenpox, or with kidney problems.
AEPap — Guía rápida de dosificación práctica en pediatría (3.ª ed.), tabla analgésicos/antitérmicos.
The dose goes by weight, never by age alone. For Junifen:
Every 6–8 hours. For a child of 15 kg that is at most 3 doses in 24 hours.
Age is not enough: two children of the same age can be several kilos apart, and this dose is calculated per kilo. Weigh the child, or ask at the pharmacy. PediBot will not give a figure from age alone.
Not before 3 months, and not under 5 kg. Not under 3 months or under 5 kg. Give with food. Avoid if dehydrated (vomiting/diarrhoea), with chickenpox, or with kidney problems.
In Spain, this is also sold as Dalsy and Apirofeno. Different box, same molecule and the same dose per kilo — what changes is the strength printed on the bottle, so always read it.
Sold in Spain.
