Fevadol 24 mg/ml or Fevadol 50 mg/ml: not the same thing

Fevadol comes in 2 strengths. The 50 mg/ml one has 2.1 times as much paracetamol (acetaminophen) in each millilitre as the 24 mg/ml one: the same millilitres give 2.1 times the dose.

For a 10 kg child (150 mg):

⚠️ Before measuring, look at how many mg per ml the box says. It is the most common way to get a dose wrong at home.

The guide publishes a band of 10–15 mg/kg per dose. This table uses 15 mg/kg: it is the dose the published daily maximum is built from, and the one the manufacturers' leaflets give. A lower dose within the band is also correct.

How much Fevadol for a child of 10, 15 or 20 kg?

The dose goes by weight, never by age alone. For Fevadol:

How often, and how many times a day?

Every 4–6 hours. For a child of 15 kg that is at most 4 doses in 24 hours.

What if I don't know what the child weighs?

Age is not enough: two children of the same age can be several kilos apart, and this dose is calculated per kilo. Weigh the child, or ask at the pharmacy. PediBot will not give a figure from age alone.

From what age can Fevadol be given?

Under 3 months, only if a doctor has told you to. Do not combine with other products that also contain paracetamol (cold remedies).
